Başqa dillərdə olduğu kimi müasir ingilis dilində də modallıq kateqoriyası bir sıra vasitələrlə ifadə edilir. Bunlardan biri də modal feillərdir. Modal feillər adi feillərə xas olan bir sıra qrammatik xüsusiyyətlərə malik deyil. Eyni zamanda hər bir modal feilin işlənmə xüsusiyyəti həm maraqlı, həm də izaha ehtiyacı olan mövzulardan hesab olunur. Bu baxımdan bu məqalə təbii ki, müəyyən aktuallıq kəsb edir. As it is in other languages also in English the category of modality is expressed by a number of means. One of them is the expression of modality by the modal verbs. Modal verbs have some other features which are not common for the other verbs. At the same time the features of usage of each modal verb has specific character and causes interest to be dealt with. Как и в других языках, в современном английском языке модальная категория выражается некоторыми способами. Одной из них является модальные глаголы. Модальные глаголы не обладают ряда свойствами присущими обычным глаголам.
Последовательно, характер употребления каждого модального глагола считается темой как интересной, так и нуждающийся обьясне-ния. С этой точки зрения, данная статья представляет определенную актуальность. В статье автор просматривает характер употребления в отдельности модальных глаголов в сравнении с Азербайджанским язы-ком и для подтверждения своих заключений ссылается на мнения раз-ных ученых.
